I did it! I finally finished The Hunger of the Gods! I’m giving this book 4 stars of out 5 which is just slightly lower than book one for me. ✨Spoilers ahead for the first book!✨ Here’s the thing I loved this book but it’s still missing something to me which is the same issue I had with the first book. Overall I’m starting to think it’s the characters POVs that we have that is dragging me down. Orka is the love of my life and I’m reading these books for her truly, but Elvar and Varg I am still struggling with. Elvar definitely picked up for me this book but I’m a little lost on what Varg and the Bloodsworn are doing? Their journey in this book, while I knew why they were going after Vol I did not understand the journey they went on to get her and I’m hoping this gets explained in the next book because so far it just seems like a weird plot line to me. Now in this book we get 2 new POVs Guðvarr and Biórr. Oddly enough I LOVED Guðvarr’s chapters he is so slimy and I honestly love a well written character that you’re supposed to hate but also love to see! Biórr’s chapters though just didn’t do it for me either. One thing to know about me is I am a character reader through and through and my love for books comes from loving the characters within them and for me this series isn’t meeting that, BUT the plot and battles of this series?! EPIC! Truly if you love plot and battles and journeys this series is perfect for that and I’ve loved seeing this story unfold. I will say too though for a story about gods and having the gods in the title there uh feels like there is a severe lack of the gods doing much here until the end
