On Murder Considered as One of the Fine Arts
by Thomas De Quincey
The beginning was rough, it took me a few pages to get into the flow of the essay. But once I did I was hooked! I laughed through most of it, and read a lot aloud to my partner. An interesting insight into De Quincey's thoughts on violent crime (and people's obsession with it) in the early 19th century. Can only imagine what he would say if he could witness the prevalance of true crime in the 21st!
