Audiobook read by the author. Thoughtful and heartfelt book about a young girl who has to shelter in place with her grandparents during the early spring days of the COVID pandemic. They happen to live on an Indigenous People’s reservation while her parents are back in the city. The time together allows her to hear stories of other hardships her family has weathered, and a special friendship with a Rez dog also plays along within the storylines. I really appreciated this story, but I am not sure my students will gravitate or relate to it.
