This felt like a middle school love story. The queer representation didn’t feel genuine. When someone says “I don’t care about your gender or your orientation…” as a rebuttal to something, the question for me is, why did you bring it up? Also there was a series of repeated words that I really could not get over; did Word or a friend not read this for you? I wanted to finish because I hate to DNF a book, but the thought of 70 more pages of this made me wish I was spending that future time doing something productive.
