3.0

At first I was a bit worried. When comics get to "cutesy" or too "weird" I usually just give up on them pretty quickly. They just don't do it for me. Also I know some comics are made for younger readers, which is SO fine. I enjoy Champions and Ms. Marvel but both are aimed towards young teens or kids and that's 100% fine because just like Spider-man was for me.

So this whole volume is 4 issues (and one special issue of the issue when Squirrel girl first shows up). It actually tells a complete arc about Glactus coming to earth to...you guessed it...eat it! Squirrel girl is on a mission to stop him! But she also has to deal with a ton of shit like School, bank robberies, and new roommate! Oh and a boy crush! Can she do it all?

What I like: The pacing is always quick so never bored. I also liked the roommate after issue 1. They don't make her one dimensional. I also LOVED the Twitter recaps. Those freaking KILLED me. Whiplash is the best he's ever been (yes that whiplash.) and how awesome was Doreen and Glactus just hanging out? Pretty amazing!

What I didn't like: First issue, and even some of 2, felt a little too goofy. I also thought some of the dialog, mostly coming from Doreen, didn't always hit. Like trying to be funnier than they are. It was when she had others to play off it worked better. Also it's only 4 issues. The special issue was meh and not nearly as good.

Overall it's more around a 3.5 but I still had a ton of fun reading it. Had flaws, and started shaky, but ended well. I think I'll be picking up the next few volumes now!
