Well written and showcases a piece of the pirate era that isn't talked about much. My one complaint is that the author periodically stops and reminds the reader that pirates were bad guys.

I am a grown adult reading history books for fun. I don't need my narrator to regularly interrupt himself and tell me that theft is Bad, actually.
