I have read some of Kendra Elliot's books but this was my first from this particular series (#3 Columbia River/#7 Mercy Kilpatrick) and I will definitely be going back to read the rest. It definitely works as a stand alone but I want to read more about Mercy, Truman, and their unconventional family. There are a couple of storylines in this book that weave their way together and I loved seeing how they linked. There are also a few twists and turns to keep you engaged until the dramatic finale.
