I don’t really ever read straight romance stories – I enjoy romance more as a subplot in fantasy or other genre books – but I had a good time with this book! I loved the whimsical magic and was well entertained by the frank and lighthearted sense of humour throughout, and the romance was sweet. Looking forward to reading the second in the series because I believe the love interest is a side character that appeared in the first who, even in his limited scenes, I personally found way more attractive and charming than the first love interest, Ned, who I still really liked.
