It’s amazing how differently you can look at a book when you haven’t read it in a very long time. I think I liked this book even more the second time around after having watched the show and put a face to all these complex characters… Jesper is still my favorite character in the book but the last time I read it I didn’t like Nina and now I love her character. Maybe it was getting to know her more later that changed my viewpoint in this book but there is so much more to her than I realized the first time reading this one.
I’m really glad I decided to pick up this series again after all this time!

I wasn't crazy about all the characters in the book. I loved Jesper and Wylan, Inej was alright, but I wasn't really a fan of Nina or Kaz ... idk maybe that's just me.
I absolutely loved the storyline though and it makes up for all of the things I didn't like about the characters. It was so fast paced and action packed! There were constant twists and turns and I loved it. I wasn't sure how a second book tied in but I definitely didn't see the ending coming, even though I probably should have, it was fairly obvious.
Over all, very good book and I look forward to reading the second one.
