Good but not great.
I really enjoyed the storyline and the world this was set in. I loved the magic and the idea of breaking the rules to try to win a war. What made this book just good was the characters. I didn’t think any of them stood out especially the two that were supposed to be the main characters. There was some stuff at the end that redeemed them and it was the only reason I didn’t give this one 3 stars. I spent a good portion of the book despising one of the main characters though and that’s not something I like to do unless they’re supposed to be a villain or just a shitty main character ... that’s just me
