Felix's New Skirt by Kerstin Brichzin
3.0

Age: Kindergarten-2nd grade
LGBTQ: Gender non-conforming

Felix loves the feel of skirts and all the activities he can do in them. He can run faster, climb higher, and feels more confident in them. But mean words and giggling accompany his first days at school until Felix's reluctant father decides to stand up for his son and wears a skirt to drop him off.

It was...okay. Obviously, an important story to tell, but the target audience was geared more towards non-queer children. The tone of the story was extremely realistic and quite down-putting, although Felix does triumph on the last page. But the extreme amount of bullying--although realistic--may be overwhelming?
