I'm not sure if I just wasn't in the mood for this or not. It felt more like a juvenile book and less like a teen book. I kept getting pulled out of the story by the writing. There are lots of short sentences that tell the story rather than show it. I was hoping the puzzle aspect of the initiation would keep me reading, but although I liked the first two puzzles, these sections of the story felt very hectic and rushed, which I know is part of the suspense but just didn't work for me.
