I was hooked at the beginning, but that’s what Jessa Hastings’s writer does to you—it sucks you in from the very beginning and doesn’t release you until the story is over.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this. I would say about 80% of the book was very engaging and the plot was really good. The last 20% however, fell flat for me. I’m somewhat conflicted about their decision to not be honest with the mom about the dad’s secret life. I understand both sides, but I don’t know if it was the right decision based on their family dynamics to begin with. I also thought the ending just felt anticlimactic. After the will was fully explained, it’s like the story just ended and didn’t close several of the points of conflict: Georgia and Oliver. Georgia and her mom. Her mom and Oliver. There didn’t seem to be any real consequences for what Maryanne allowed to happen to Georgia and the Beckett situation.

It seems like there should be more of the book or at least a part two…

Also, bonus points for the Magnolia Parks crossover with Julian and Henry.
