To Say Nothing of the Dog
by Connie Willis
An absolutely great read. Willis is very, very good at writing humour while maintaining a good story.
I have to say that as far as the story goes, I actually preferred Doomsday Book, but her character development is so fantastic and the pacing so good that I also very much enjoyed this.
She (again) managed to have a time travel story that is about the people in it, more than the dynamics of time travel itself.
Very highly recommended, even to non sci-fi fans.
