I went into this book blind. I actually bought it based on the cover last week. I decided it would fit my Belivathon prompt and dove in today. I read it in one sitting. This book was so good.

This did start off a bit slow but once it started to pick up, I could not put it down! This is a story about family, love and trying to find out where you belong. Crow, who was found on shore, is questioning everything. She wants to know who she is and where she is from.

I loved the relationships in this book so much. The relationship between Osh and Crow is so special and written so well. I could just feel of Osh when she’s wanting to know who her “real” parents are. I really loved the relationship that Miss Maggie had with both of them too. She also brought a lot of fun and laughter to a serious book.

The book does take on kind of a mystery. She’s not only trying to learn where she came from but there’s a mysterious treasure that everyone is looking for. Her path ends up crossing with this story line too.

Overall, I thought this was a really well done book. I felt like it was a bit more than just a middle grade, more YA area. Basically, because it did get deep and kind of scary at some points. The relationships were amazing and my favorite part about this book!
