Clutch & Shift by Brittany Ann
5.0

"Everyone is a hero and a villain, all depends on who is telling the story."

I knew it.. I just knew this book would chew me up and spit me out then tape the pieces together cause no one does that better than Brittany.

Holy hell was this one hell of a ride.
The emotions..
The spice..
The twists..
LEON ..
The praise..

Phew did I need to take a breather after about 65% because the intensity from both Amara & Leon was completely off the charts!
I was not prepared at all for what unfolds in this book. You're right back where Breakneck left off and it starts off with a bang. We get more insight into the situation with Amara but also with Leon, and we get the how of their relationship.

The hardest part for me throughout this book was Amara's grief, she is a bitch. Struggling with losing someone unexpectedly is always hard but most of the time it lingers and is always there. I understood Amara more than words can say, her dad was everything to her. He was her compass and guide. She had it right when she told Leon it just comes out of nowhere, cause it does.
Leon was more complex than ever. Getting to know him through his POV was something that I wanted most from this book and phew did we get it and then some. The man is a walking red flag but damn if Amara was colorblind to it.

They both wanted someone that was theirs, someone to love. Someone to care about. Someone that was their everything. They found it in each other.

Although this book was twisty and turny and full of all the goodness all throughout, I shed tears at one point that I had to stop and just breathe. That one hurt Brittany! Why? You give him to us and then :(

Now this book has serious triggers, read them please. The scenes throughout in this book are to me well deserved cause come on, read it and you might just agree but this book might not be for everyone so heed the warnings at the start of the book.
