Max & Charlie by Louis Neubert, Zack Lieberman
4.0

This book is amazingly weird (in a good way)! Max is the dog and Charlie is the boy. We start of in space, take a trip in the subway, through NYC (I think), visit Times Square, and end up in the park. All because Max wanted to take his own adventure. Throughout this adventure Charlie is supposed to learn lessons on chivalry, authority, respect for fear, to not fear, etc. What I think this books actually teaches is chaos theory. Because you stepped of the subway, you met a tall bearded man, etc. This is a groovy book that is wonderfully illustrated. The colors are lush and vibrant and you want to delve in. Overall an enjoyable read.
