“We notice the silence of men. We depend upon the silence of women."
Why do all the books I fall in love with have to be so short???? Seriously this world is so rich with mythologies and there are characters with well developed backstories, which means that because it's soo short, it also feels a bit rushed. Especially given the murder mystery element which does feel like it came out of nowhere for a second there. Honestly, I think it helps being able to read the series in quick succession because of how short it is. It sort of circumvents that rushed feeling.
The casual LCBTQIA rep is my favorite thing. I love when characters don't need this big moment and can just be which just makes it feel so natural and affirming. In this particular book we get an ace main character, a trans boy, and a lesbian character. And they are all so perfect. I cannot wait to see them in future stories.
Am I the only one who things about how great this would look on screen? Like the diversity, the lore, the different worlds behind doors. It would be perfect.
