This story follows an unlikely trio, in a wild situation. With some twists and turns I never expected. Having only read House in the Cerulean Sea I went in expecting cute and sweet..... this is not that! This has the characters you root for like in The House in the Cerulean Sea but it has more vibes like The Starless Sea and The Passage Trilogy. The sci fi elements were top notch but in a very accessible way. This would be ideal for readers that - are new to, or don't usually read sci fi; have enjoyed this authors writing before; enjoy a well blended sci fi romance. My final rating is 4.5 stars just because there were stream of consciousness sections that I had to really stop what I was doing to just listen to listen more carefully. I am looking forward to getting a physical copy of this after it is released to immerse myself in this story again.
