as cute as the title suggests and so book loving.
it’s a pretty typical romance plot wise -a first meet were at least one of the two dislikes the other, a second meet where there is a strong dislike, some kind of problem both solve together, a romance, drama, and the ending most romance books have.
so if you want something unique?
not really here.
BUT this is super cute!
i loved both men and their unique personalities and priorities.
i loved that this book shares that every type of book/genre is for everyone and nobody should judge until they actually tried emoji to actually formed an educated option (and even then you should judge anyone else’s reading enjoyment! it’s their own personal taste not your own!)
i did love that was something talked about in this book because i always hate books that are supposed to be a book about loving books but then looks down on specific genres!
so i loved that this was so very book positive!
i also loved the different reasons both characters read and enjoyed books.
always great to see men loving and enjoying books and being open about it.
i also loved how this romance build up. it was not instant love or rushing in.
it wasn’t a slow burn but it wasn’t rushed either. my personal favorite.
i also loved that both men had a great family relationship with some members.
both had wonderful grandmothers and adored them. and rex also had a younger sister that played a role in this and that he had a great relationship with.
i love those details in books and enjoy especially nice parents/grandparents relationships since those are sadly pretty rare to find. (although in the last two or so years that trend of bad parents did seem to lose some popularity ?)
i did find the big drama a bit overdone and sometimes both characters where really over the top dramatic.
i also really want the jobs jordan has? because he can afford a nice little house, by at less the 15 books a month and have a comfortable life - as a call center worker and then as a receptionist?!
i will take those jobs with that kind of money! that sounds fantastic and like he is living the dream.
and completely unrealistic. at least here in europe that’s not a possibility at all.
it’s not something i count against the book - it’s a minor detail that i would guess most readers don’t even think about it notice- but it just boogled my mind enough that i kept thinking about it.
all in all?
this is super cute and i loved it.
i will defiantly reread it and hopefully find a copy of it to own because i enjoyed it a lot.
definitely recommend it for anyone that wants a nice male male romance that is realistic but still very cute.
