Sounds Complicated by Frances Fox
4.0

Book safety, content warnings and tropes down below.

This was a short and entertaining read. I’m always nervous about reading rockstar romances because I fear the angst levels, but this was very low on angst actually.

I liked how the MCs were honest with each other and communicated pretty well (eventually).

«“You could tell me what’s wrong,” he said. “Then I wouldn’t be making things up in my head.”»

The tropes and plot in this could’ve really worked with a longer book. I enjoyed it, but because there was a fair bit happening externally, I didn’t really have the time to connect with the characters really well. They were still good MCs though.

«“I think I’m falling in love with you,” he said quietly. “Is that okay?”»

Side note: Mordant is a really strange name.
3.75 stars. I can appreciate the novella format, but in this case I actually wanted a little more time with Pink and Mordant.
