I’m glad that I finally decided to read this after watching the movie numerous times, and it being one of my favorites. Matilda’s parents are something else. Despite their neglectfulfullness and disparaging remarks, she doesn’t let that get to her too much. Instead she strives to live life as normal as she can. Ms. Trunchbull terrified me and Ms. Honey was the sweetest. Mr. Dahl did a great job of writing each character as polar opposites. I did like the movie better which is rare for me with books that have been turned into movies.
