This was so much fun! It was almost an instant joy and continued the whole way through. Ethan and Alex were two great characters and a cute couple. Definitely keeping up with the series because I need to know what comes next. There’s something so cosy about a small-town setting and I felt like Bailey was able to capture that very well. Managed to include everything that works in a setting, didn’t make the conflict too high as to not mark it a cozy book. I liked how the magic was incorporated into everything and how the town half-worked off of magic. But also at the same time Ethan’s bakery isn’t successful just because of magic – which I also liked seeing.

I liked both Ethan and Alex as the main couple. I don’t think I favoured either of them. I chuckled a bit at Alex’s job because that’s basically the mid-2000’s romcom job 😄. I did feel like Alex’s relationship with her sister could’ve been written a bit better but mostly everything else worked out. I liked that Alex had a head on her shoulders and chose the more fun things once she was in the town. Live a little, right? I do think I liked Ethan a bit better than Alex. I enjoyed getting to know him and get into his personality from Alex’s eyes. I’m always up for awkward characters. I liked Ethan’s grumpiness – prefer it even as it’s just a touch of grumpiness because then you realise that really he has a heart of gold. And of course with Ethan it’s understandable why he would be so closed off and yet you’ll root for him to find love again.

The inclusion of the small-town members were also well-done. I liked that they were involved and rooted for Ethan and Alex. Even the conflict was so low but I realised I liked that! I wanted to stay in this sweet bubble and I did! I was also hungry so many times while reading which I thought was rude because I don’t have an Ethan to just up and bake me goods. So while I recommend you read this book, I do NOT recommend you read it on an empty stomach – unless you have a bakery assortment of goods right by you.
