Fairlady
by Brian Schirmer
I’ve finally just finished Fairlady Volume 1, a graphic novel that on paper is right up my alley.
According to GoodReads I started this 3rd January and marked it ‘finished’ 18th. It does not take me 15 days to read a graphic novel but this one lay untouched on my bedside for much of that time.
The five stories are somewhat self contained with an over arching story woven through, but I just couldn’t bring myself to care about anyone and I really wanted to like the main character, Jenner Faulds, but dang it, there was no spark! I often it felt like panels or pages were missing which confused the life out me, added to that I was so unengaged, I FEEL ASLEEP READING IT… TWICE!
It’s safe to say I’ll donating this one to a charity shop or local nerd club and not trying any future volumes.
