Mexikid by Pedro Martín

emotional funny hopeful informative fast-paced

Pedro Martin grew up as one of seven kids in a Mexican-American family. This book tells the story of a family trip to bring their grandfather back from Mexico to live with them in California. This book made me laugh so hard. My father is one of nine (French Canadian-American) and the stories reminded me of things he and his brother have talked about. There are many excellent stories about travel and being in a big family and knowing trauma versus what we think war stories are. I very much enjoyed it.
