This is truly one of my favourites books of all time. No, scratch that, this is one of my favourite stories of all time. I love the clear writing and all the action and how strangely realistic the whole thing is. It's a near-perfect read for me except for one thing. Something that probably doesn't bother everyone but oh boy did Lex get on my nerves. Not Lexi specifically because I think any child stranded in Jurassic Park should be able to cry and scream whenever they damn well feel like it. But, why was she the only one? And why was she vilified for acting her age? Lex is annoying, irritable, obnoxious, naive and ungrateful. But, she's also roughly 8 years old so I have one question for you Michael Chrichton. Why, in a book about escaped dinosaurs and abuse of scientific power, did you spend so much time making us hate the 8-year-old? (for reference, I think Tim is around 11 - this was reversed in the movie)

This was so good!! I've been putting off reading this for years because of my love for the movie but turns out this is actually fantastic, I can definitely see myself rereading this in the future! Such a smart book!
