Black Sheep by Brynne Weaver, Alexa Harlowe
5.0

What an absolute fucking banger. This is probably the best indie romance I’ve read in awhile. The writing was fantastic, and Bria, the FMC was equal parts twisted and badass. The plot twists were also crazy, and really kept me turning the pages the entire time. However the best part about Black Sheep was the romance between Bria and Eli. Bria finds a kindred soul in Eli, and at first I was expecting this to be toxic asf, but they literally turned out to be so fucking cute. The spice was also top tier.

This reminded me a lot of the Mindf*ck series by ST Abby, some do my favorite books of all time. Bria had major Lana Myers vibes, and the romance definitely gave Lana/Logan energy. I feel like if you like that series, you’ll enjoy this book. It had all the right components to be a new favorite for me, and I’m so glad this delivered.

Brynne Weaver seems to write a lot of serial killer romances (I can’t believe I just typed that sentence with a straight face) including a very popular one; Butcher & Blackbird and I’m really excited to read more from her after how impressed this book left me.
