I got this book a couple years ago and have only just now gotten around to reading it (oops?). I have mixed feelings. It got a lot of hype that I don't think it entirely deserved. It was interesting, sure, but it wasn't /phenomenal/ or even really overly memorable. I liked the characters well enough, but I never felt connected to them. I wish we'd gotten to spend more time with them and seeing them in ways that allowed us to get to know them, rather than just amp up the intrigue and mystery of the premise. I saw the plot twist coming pretty early on, so maybe I just didn't have the patience for it. It was an enjoyable book though, and had its moments. I like Jacob's peculiarity. I'm not sure I'll be reading the rest of the series though.
