Clean has a great blend of science fiction and urban fantasy. Taking place in the near future, but after a devastating war that has left people afraid to trust technology, so there isn't a whole lot of "spaceship" type technology. After these wars, the "special" humans emerged. The main character is one of these, although he has alienated himself from the Guild - the ruling body for psychics - because of drug abuse.

He now works as a consultant for a police department in Atlanta - helping crack tough interviews and sensing crime scenes for more information. The latest crime spree has him on edge, because it's a Guild member - and a very powerful one - somehow killing people without leaving a trace behind.

The world building in this new series is amazing - it was quite real, and very easy to picture every little thing. The characters were very deep and dynamic. Watching as he fought his way through is addiction, and the reactions of those around him was so very real.
