The Gravity of Us is a new queer contemporary romance, following Cal whose father applies for an ongoing astronaut program. His father is accepted and Cal has to move down to Houston, Texas. Cal is also a vlogger, and has quite a huge following which he delivers relatable news on. In Texas Cal meets Leon, a very cute boy who he quickly gets feeling for. Also, all the astronaut and their families is obligatory to be on a reality tv show, which focuses a lot on drama…
This book has a lot of things going on in it, and with all of that comes lot of heart! There are pure, sweets moments in here with very good writing to come with it. I wish all the storylines was spun better together, but there are so many good themes in this book. I love the focus of going to Mars, and the talk of the universe while also considering how small we are in the universe… get me? Haha. There is also representation for depression, anxiety as well as the queer (m/m romance) I mentioned above. I also liked the reflections upon what a drama tv show can do vs. what reality really is. This was not what I expected it to be, but that does not mean I was disappointed! A cute and heartful contemporary I think a lot of people will enjoy. 4/5 stars.
