Barchester Towers
by Anthony Trollope
I liked this second book in the Barchester series much better than the first book, The Warden! The characters were more developed, the writing was funnier, and the plot more fleshed out. The beginning is slow, as in most classic books, because new characters are being introduced and the setting established; but then the action kicks in and the plot moves forward more.
I loved the comic and sarcastic writing! I fell in love with Mr. Arabin and Eleanor, and I absolutely adore Mr. Harding, the dear, sweet man! I chuckled and laughed, and there might have been a small tear or two.
