Butler blows it out of the water. Some super dark themes and scenes mixed with a beautiful understanding of how to craft, carry and explore rich themes. Plus, stunning world-building. Butler writes everything I have ever wanted in sci-fi. It isn't every day that someone can re-ignite and deepen a passion I already have. I love sci-fi and will eat it up every day of the week. But in a world of sci-fi, Butler's writing is a delicacy. I cannot wait to read more by her and I just wish I could find an infinite source of her writing for the rest of my life.
Let it be noted that the long read time I have on this book is because I read the first 15 pages back in May and forgot it was on Kindle and not through Libby. It was a super digestible yet poignant read that I basically consumed for Thanksgiving.
