A Midsummer Night's Dream
by William Shakespeare
this is a play that for me never quiet delivers when i read it.
i truly believe it’s a great one acted out but reading it always leaves me disappointed in a way because it’s just too jumpy for me.
but honestly most of shakespeare’s plays for me only really work as a production, be it audio or actual theater.
i need the acting, the voices, the drama and the script working together to make shakespeare be great for me.
and i actually think that’s a good thing because shakespeare wrote his play for a stage not for readers.
that doesn’t mean it’s not great if others love reading his plays- more power to you!- but that it’s also not bad of you are similar to me and don’t love reading his work.
