Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber
3.0

“I believe there are far more possibilities than happily ever after or tragedy. Every story has the potential for infinite endings.“ A fairytale that sweeps you away to sweet smells of dragon fried snacks, spells, good looking princes and princess dresses.

In this bewitching novel Once Upon a Broken Heart (OUABH) by Stephanie Garber we follow the brokenhearted Evangeline. Her beau has left her and she would do anything to get him back. She would even make a deal with the dangerous Fate the Prince of Broken Hearts, Jacks. In return he asks for only three kisses. But soon Evangeline discovers she’s involved in more than she bargained for.

OUABH is like coming home, but realizing your home is completely different. Like plunging in your favorite sofa and realizing it looks like your sofa but it smells differently. That’s how stepping in the new enchanting world off OUABH felt like. This was mainly because of the presence of characters out of the Caraval Series. Like for instance meeting Jacks again with his conniving and his eating juicy white apples. Although I liked this new world and found the story captivating I didn’t fell in love with it completely. Maybe it was Evangeline or the fact that I seem to enjoy young adult less, who knows. Despite this, I would recommend it if you like a mysterious fairytale with enchanting dresses and a love to die for.
