Well this was disappointing. Venom’s from different universes put their egos aside to survive a new breed of predator, one that hunts symbiotes! The premise is cool, and I like the boney, chitinous designs of the “Poison” parasites, but that’s all the nice things I can say about this book. The plot meanders quite a bit and I don’t think the Poisons as a concept were well thought out. I’m convinced the author doesn’t understand the concept of parasites because he goes on some pretty long monologs about how Poisons are the “Perfect hosts” for symbiotes when they are *quite literally* eating the symbiotes alive (like a parasite), and the Poison Hive’s plan is so simple that the symbiote army ends up looking like a giant group of idiots for not figuring it out sooner. If you’re looking for some fun multiversal Venom stories, go buy the Edge of Venomverse or Beyond Venomverse books because those were WAY more fun than this.
