All We Have Is Now
by Lisa Schroeder
What if you only had 24 hours left on Earth as you knew it? What would you do? Where would you go? This middle school/ YA title asks that question and has us follow 2 teen runaways as they meet a man who asks them what their dream is. Vince and Emerson tell the man, and he makes their dream come true, but asks that they pay it forward to others. This is their tale. I really enjoyed how the story focused on people and emotions and less on the doom of the end of the Earth. The ending was a bit of a twist, but it was a light and enjoyable read for the last day of summer. (Is there some symbolism in reading this book now??)
