I picked this book up for a bookclub pick and I am so happy that I did. I think that this is a great fall read.

Quinn did an amazing job in their research for this book. I also found it very helpful that there were all of the dates that were referenced through out the story were in the back of the books about the real events. I love a good historical fiction especially one like this that was so well researched.

I found our main characters to be so compelling. I think that Charlie's growth through the whole three months that the story is taking place is just so inspiring. I also think that Eve's story was also so inspiring and harrowing at the same time. I think that both of these characters had their faults but I think that's what made them feel so real to me.

I think that the setting of this story was also such a big part of me enjoying this wonderful novel. I think that as a reader we can definitely see all of the hard work the author did in making this story work for the time period in which it was set.

I think that if you are a fan of books like The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah you will enjoy this one as well.

I can not wait to read more from this author.
