Why is no one reading this?

This was freaking great!

I was saying the other day I keep playing video games/reading books about a father protecting his children. Or a man protecting kids. But I never see a woman protect the kids. Even further, we have a badass young adult here protecting a 10 year old and it's amazing.

What Sato does well here is build real characters with great dialogue. The first chapter feels like a slow burn as you get glimpses of what happened to Jinsuke and his parents. When the first chapter ends his world is flipped upside down and now Suzuki is dragged into it. Who's that? Just a regular girl trying to live a quiet life, but you know that never ends well.

This is a gripping thriller with great dialogue, strong human connection, emotional moments, and great fight scenes. Everything is super clear and brutal with the fights, and the actual connection you feel to these characters amps it up. The small moments of character development spilled throughout make this title even better.

I had some big Leon the professional vibes coming from this in all the right ways. Well worth reading. It might be digital only but can get it on Amazon and Comixlogy and it's worth every penny. Buying volume 2 now.

A 5 out of 5.
