There are several covers of Vivid; however, I like the green cover best.  Very regal looking.  That said, Vivid was a feisty romance with a headstrong female lead who knows where she deserves to be in a time where both blacks and whites would deny her.  Even her boo Nate, who is a nepo baby, looked down upon her.  But black female's middle name is resilience.  I enjoyed the history lesson about politics, elevation of the black race, medical practice progression, as well as female's roles in the profession.  The story was fun, entertaining, and heart breaking at times.  I do wish Viveca wasn't so exposed outside all the time, that the book would have followed her through a Michigan winter (it is not joke and would have really shown her hardiness), and her injuries from the fire didn't make sense to me.  Overall, a great read by Miss Bev.  I salute you.
