I absolutely loved James and Aubrey’s story last year, it was one of my reads of the year, but this fell a little flat for me. I felt like Aubrey’s reasons for doing what she did weren’t fully explained and I missed James’s loving words.
I also felt like there was too much made of James’s age, we know he’s older, and it bordered on repetitive.
Something else I wanted to see was other people’s reactions to them as a couple. A big deal was made about them, but nobody said anything?
Natalie’s storyline didn’t pull a chord for me either.
I wanted to love this, but it fell a little flat.
