Ponyboy by Eliot Duncan
3.0

out of the 3 parts in this book, I really enjoyed the middle. I think that was the strongest part of the book. I was hoping to get more out of ponyboy's relationships with Baby, Gabriel and Toni in the first part. I think really diving into ponyboys feeling about each of them could've connected me more with them and actually feel the heartbreak with each person. There were some breaks in between present chapters that i just didn't get and it kind of took me out of it at times. The second part was my favorite. I think we really got to feel Ponyboy's desperation for someone to actually see him as who he is and the destructiveness of not having a good support system. I was expecting the last part to be very self reflective as he goes to rehab but it was lacking for me and too short.
