The Friendship Pact
by Jill Shalvis
Shalvis always knows how to hit me right in the feels.
The Friendship Pact is mostly about Tae and Riggs, as they deal with their past, their potential future, and their own personal issues. Tae was raised by a young single mom - and is strong because of it. She ends up finding out some information about her birth father that sends her world spinning. Riggs is returning only for the summer to help his brother with their company. This is a struggle for Riggs as his brother is paralyzed and Riggs thinks he should have been there to prevent it. Shalvis really shines in bringing this relationship out and having the brothers deal with their issues (in a very brotherly way).
Tae's mother April is also one of the narrators, and this really added to Tae's story as well as give us some of April's story. As a teenage mom April had a lot of struggles and had to make a lot of tough decisions.
The romance between Tae and Riggs is wonderful and I enjoyed their journey through some of the past and how they eventually worked to build a future.
