The Secret of Helmersbruk Manor: A Christmas Mystery
by Eva Frantz
This a beautiful book not only in terms of the stunning cover but also the story itself. It is an atmospheric Christmas ghost story, at turns eerie, sad, magical and joyful. I loved every moment of it.
It feels like a children's classic, the type of story that will appeal as much to adults as to children and that can be passed down the generations.
It is translated from Finnish and has 24 chapters to allow it to be read over Advent, with a full page black and white illustration at the start of each chapter.
Highly recommended.
