This book is about Catherine de Medici and Diane de Poitiers and their love and rivalry for Henri II of France. Henry II married Catherine de Medici for her wealth and her political ties. Catherine loved Henri basically immediately, but he was starstruck with Diane. This love triangle is one of the greatest ones I have read about, and was featured in the historical drama Reign. I thought this book was very good.
