I really liked Iris as a character, so motivated and caring, wanting her writing to make a difference. I also really liked Roman and how he was a secret simp. It went from rivals to lovers fairly quickly but I didn’t mind bc it seemed to be bubbling under the surface for a while even before the book started. The magic wasn’t explained fully but idk, I didn’t care too much. I just chalked the magic of the typewriters to friendship. I liked the friends at the B and B and the queer relationship.

What I have a problem with is Forest and Iris’s relationship.
I thought the relationship between Iris and Forest was weird and too affectionate. Siblings have nicknames for each other like Jerkface or something that only makes sense to them. Little Flower just seems too affectionate to me. And the way Iris talked about him in the beginning made me think he was Iris’s boyfriend before we were told he was her brother. And if Forest had used the time he spent wrestling with Iris to instead save Roman they all would have been fine.
Idk, I thought it was weird.
