Set on You
by Amy Lea
I enjoyed this book! I think with half stars I’d go 3.5 stars.
The good:
-always here for body diversity in our heroines
-palpable chemistry between the leads
-dimensional side characters for the most part who felt like fleshed out people
The less good:
-pacing was a little odd, and a long section in the middle dragged a bit with what felt like low stakes. The stakes did ramp back up in the last 70 or so pages
-occasionally there were moments that felt overly preachy, especially toward the end. The messaging was good it just leaned slightly too overt
-mentions of how hot/sexy/handsome Scott was were a little overly frequent for my taste, especially as time went on and I felt the character would be more accustomed to his looks
Overall this was a delightful and at times steamy beach read and I’m glad to have come across Amy Lea’s voice.
