Spells for Forgetting
by Adrienne Young
Thank you to the publisher for a free Netgalley of this atmospheric, claustrophobic novel.
What I loved:
- This novel made me feel straight up claustrophobic and I loved that. That's probably why Wuthering Heights is one of my fav classics.
- I would have liked to see a tad more magic, but I like that it was not overboard. I was well used and it made the ending that much better.
- Loved the sprinkle in POVs from island residents. So we could slowly piece together this one.
- The writing overall is just well done.
What I didn't:
- I did feel the pace was a bit too slow at times.
- I have one qualm about the ending. I will put it with spoiler tags below. DM me if you want to chat about it.
Definitely recommend this one!
So the grandma basically sacrificed her granddaughter. Maybe I missed it, but I could not tell if the others had realized that or if they were just ok with it.
