I loved the originality of this book. Initially I struggled to be sucked in but I simply think that was the initial world building. Once I was in it i I couldn’t put it down. Stacey did an incredible job describing the cold, I don’t think I was warm the entire time I was reading about the Ledge. My toes were cold in solidarity. There was beautiful LGBTQ+ representation in the book and it was a breath of fresh air. Gay Queens, gender fluid friends, etc. nothing felt forced, it was all natural and no questions. The banter was top notch, which I was hopeful after watching and following Stacey for quite awhile on social media. I struggled with the prose initially—which may be due to my lack of observation skills. It was jarring for me when the book suddenly switched to Ryon’s POV and the way it’s written, you don’t realize it for a moment. Had I initially noticed the chapter heading image, it may not have been so jarring, totally on me. Overall, wonderful book. Unappreciated the originality and am so excited for Chasm to come out.
