Sarah McBride has lived more life in (at the time) 25 years than most people do in eighty. My heart broke when she wrote about her short time with her husband Andy, and it was invigorating to hear her talk about how important it is to keep fighting for equality for marginalized groups, no matter how tough the fight. She is incredibly cognizant of her privilege even while fighting for trans rights, and she truly works to bring all discriminated groups into the equality conversation. I'm so happy she has made history as the first transgender state senator.
