I really wanted to love this - Alice meets Buffy, own voices POC rep, loose/side LGBT+ reps... some really hard selling points. It just didn't hit the mark enough for me - and I think it was the Alice in Wonderland links. We are in a universe where Lewis Caroll exists, but I guess Alice in WL doesn't?! And the references/links/retellings of Alice just didn't hit the mark for me.

In saying that, I think that this just was not the book for me, and perhaps I am not the right audience for it.
